COPSIL 5

COPSIL 5 is a translucent RTV-2 silicone elastomer offering excellent mechanical properties. It is primarily designed for the manufacture of custom silicone liners, with a very low hardness of 5 Shore A (55 Shore 00). Its flexibility and high elongation make it suitable for producing flexible parts for applications requiring comfort and durability.

COPSIL 5 silicone can be used in contact with the skin and complies with ISO 10993-5. It is particularly suitable for orthopaedic device applications, especially for the manufacture of custom liners. COPSIL 5 is part of the COPSIL silicone range developed by COP for orthopaedic and technical applications.

Technical Characteristics:

COPSIL 5 is a two-component system consisting of a resin and a hardener. Highly fluid, it is mixed in equal parts and cures at room temperature through an addition-cure reaction, using a platinum catalyst. Polymerization can be accelerated by applying heat.

Available in Normal and Fast versions, COPSIL 5 offers a working time of 1 hour for the Normal version and 25 minutes for the Fast version at 20°C. Demolding occurs after approximately 2 hours for the Normal version and 45 minutes for the Fast version, respectively.

Easy to process, this RTV-2 silicone can be colored. Its mechanical properties, including an elongation at break of 800%, also make it suitable for other technical applications requiring a flexible and durable silicone elastomer.
