Description
COPSIL 16 is a translucent RTV-2 silicone designed for applications requiring fast processing by casting. With a hardness of 16 Shore A, it produces soft and elastic parts while maintaining good mechanical properties. Its formulation is particularly suitable for the manufacture of custom liners and technical parts requiring a flexible material. It can be used in contact with the skin and complies with ISO 10993-5. This translucent silicone can also be colored according to the requirements of the application and is part of COP’s range of COPSIL silicones.
Technical characteristics:
COPSIL 16 is a two-component resin/hardener system mixed at a 1:1 ratio. The platinum-catalyzed addition-cure reaction takes place at room temperature and can be accelerated by applying heat. With a viscosity of 6,000 mPa·s at 20°C, the mixture provides suitable flow properties for casting applications. COPSIL 16 offers a working time of approximately 30 minutes at 20°C and a demolding time of approximately 50 minutes.
